How well do I do it?

I won't say that I've reviewed all the web authoring tools on the market, because two or three news ones have probably been launched since I started typing this paragraph. However I have reviewed various releases of HoTMetaL Pro, Allaire HomeSite, FileMaker HomePage, Aldus PageMill, WebExpress, AOLPress, Microsoft FrontPage and quite a few others. I've also had a good look at Macromedia DreamWeaver. 

For all that, the only HTML source editor I really trust not to corrupt my hand-written HTML code is Windows Notepad, a view shared by a remarkable number of the web authors who email me. C'mon, authoring tool vendors, follow the browsers' example - process the tags you understand, and leave the rest alone!

I also have a good grasp of server-side Web issues, including the functions of products such as Lotus Domino, Microsoft IIS/ASP, Allaire Cold Fusion and so on. The range of new e-commerce solutions is slightly overwhelming at the moment, but I'm doing my best to keep up. 

See what I thought of Microsoft's FrontPage 2000 (well, it can't be that bad, or I wouldn't be using it to design these pages, would I?).
