How well do I do it?

What do I know? - Databases

I'll be up-front about this one - over the past couple of years I've mainly covered the databases which are bundled in Office suites. Before that, however, I covered desktop databases in depth, especially the xBase (dBase-compatible) ones.

During that period I reviewed all the major releases of R:Base, Access, Paradox, DataEase, Approach, SuperBase, FileMaker, the xBase products - if it had rows, columns and a forms designer, I probably did a feature on it. I even wrote Future Publishing's first mail order and subscription management systems in dBXL - Future ran them for about four years before moving on to a UNIX-based system.

Since then I've spent more time on Web authoring, although my coverage of office suites has meant that I've kept up to date with Access, Approach and Paradox.

See what I thought of Access 2000, in this section from my Office 2000 feature.
